Here is the centre piece of Darksun studios. The beautiful 1850s, heritage listed, church building.

As you can see from the photos, the church would be a great place for creative people to work and importantly for a recording studio, has an amazing, natural acoustic.

Why a church building?

When most recording studios look for a suitable location to build. They will seek out an empty space where they can build a completely new space, within a space. The problem with this approach is that you often end up with an acoustic that has very little character.

Darksun has taken the opposite approach. It has looked for a building which already contains a beautiful acoustic character, and then will build the studio around a sound which is inspiring to begin with!
