Studio Recording

The central service provided by Darksun Studios is professional studio recordings. These recordings will take place at the main studio site in Sydney's south west. The central feature to Darksun's studio recordings is the very special building that is Darksun's main 'live room'. The live room is an old, 1850s church building that is being converted to be used as a recording studio.

The natural acoustic of this building is what makes Darksun so very special. So many people are frustrated by the sound of their home recordings, even when they spend large amounts of money on the latest recording equipment. The missing element, no matter how good the recording equipment is, is a great sounding space, and that is exactly what Darksun Studios offer.

The rich, warm acoustic character of this building make Darksun Studios the perfect place for acoustic recordings. Founder and 'in-house' audio engineer, Jonathan Normand, has a background as a professional classical musician. He understands the needs and requirements of acoustic musicians and the music they record. The building size is perfect for classical chamber music groups and jazz ensembles. The building is also a perfect place for small choirs and solo musicians. Do you want your vocals to sound naturally warm and full, and can't get the sound you are after through artificial reverb? This is the studio for YOU!

The rich acoustic character of the building also make Darksun the perfect place to track drums. The clay brick, wooden ceiling and sandstone floor, all combine to give a HUGE sound, that just can't be replicated with the use of digital effects.
